Capital Adequacy Analyst recruitment
Working as part of a small team, this role will have exposure to all aspects of the capital management process in the region, including the preparation of ICAAP documents and, evaluation of new business initiatives and analysis of upcoming regulatory changes (e.g. Basel III).
Principal ResponsibilitieS
• Maintain and help to further develop the capital planning tools used to manage the capital adequacy position of Northern Trust’s EMEA regulated subsidiaries.
• Work closely with partners in finance, treasury and risk to prepare regular capital adequacy reports for boards and senior management.
• Assist with the preparation of ICAAPs and annual capital plans for regulated subsidiaries in the UK and Guernsey.
• Participate in scenario analysis workshops and coordinate the preparation of the associated capital impact assessments for EMEA regulated entities.
• Working closely with business units and other support areas, evaluate new business initiatives and internal reorganisations to ensure the potential capital adequacy implications are fully articulated and clearly understood by the key stakeholders.
• Assist with the analysis and implementation of regulatory initiatives in the region that impact on capital adequacy, including Basel III and resolution and recovery planning.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with business units and partners in finance, treasury and risk in EMEA and at head office in Chicago.
Skills / Experience
• Knowledge of capital adequacy rules and concepts gained through a treasury, regulatory policy or regulatory reporting background.
• Familiarity with Basel II / III highly desirable.
• Strong IT skills required, notably Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to organise, manage and prioritise work in order to deliver to tight deadlines.
• Ability to partner effectively with peers, senior management, and overseas partners.
