Capital Risk – Associate recruitment

Overview

This position will be located in London, and will responsible for the risk reporting and Basel II requirements of the Credit Department. The department is responsible for evaluating and monitoring the counterparty risk of the EMEA client base as well as the exposure on the UK regulated entities. This position requires daily communications with credit professionals, controllers, and other functions within the firm.  The ideal candidate should have several years experience in a relevant field.

Job Description

• Production of daily/monthly Basel II credit risk capital adequacy calculations
• Key point person with Finance on discussions around Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) calculations
• Capital impact analysis
• Internal Model Methodology (IMM) waiver application
• ICAAP/EU Economic Capital processes

• Understanding of data/methodology issues

• Regulatory data requests
• Ad hoc project work analysis

Skills Required

• Bachelors degree or equivalent in a Finance related subject
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• VBA skills required

• Knowledge on databases – SQL, Access, etc. required

• Enthusiastic, flexible and able to use own initiative
• Work well as a team member with proven leadership ability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• MS Office familiarity required

• Understanding of credit risk required

• Understanding of OTC exposure calculation required

The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a solid understanding of Basel II, BIPRU, credit risk models, processes, internal policies and data. This role does not, however, require advanced credit modeling skills
