Under indirect supervision, operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment to perform a variety of routine specialized technical procedures to produce images which assist the physician in the diagnosis of heart ailments. Makes members/patients their needs a primary focus of one's actions; develops sustains productive member/patient relationships. Actively seeks information to understand member/patient circumstances, problems, expectations, needs. Builds rapport cooperative relationship w/ members/patients. Considers how actions or plans will affect members; responds quickly to meet member/patient needs resolves problems. Essential Functions: - Reviews patient's medical records to obtain record identifying information required for cardiology testing; instructs patient in preparing for examinations explains procedures to be performed - Positions patient to obtain desired images in accordance w/ physician's instructions using knowledge of human anatomy - Operates diagnostic cardiac ultrasound equipment to record structure flow characteristics of the heart - Reviews modifies each echocardiogram during the procedure to obtain the highest quality exam possible - Performs calculations measurements to appropriately focus the exam obtain the data needed for the particular diagnosis - Organizes processed images, measurements, calculations other data in a logical sequence for presentation to the physician for interpretation; consults w/ the cardiologist regarding the quality of the images data obtained - May read w/ physicians when appropriate - Performs other technical duties, including EKG prepares results for the physician's review - Maintains appropriate quality control of all cardiac ultrasound equipment; orders stores supplies; prepares maintains ultrasound records files; schedules appointments - May perform other duties within the department as requested - In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors principles defined by the KP Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives - Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, behaviors necessary to provide superior culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, to purchasers, contracted providers vendors Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Previous experience as a Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performing doppler is required - Completion of an approved training program in Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonography, currently registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers - Ability to operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment doppler, perform related technical procedures - Highly effective interpersonal verbal communication skills - Demonstrated customer service skills, customer focus abilities the ability to understand KP customer needs Rotate schedule Salary Range: $
