Care Coordinator

Our client, a provider of leading healthcare technology is currently looking to fill a job in their company for a Single Point of Access Coordinator. The right candidate will be an experienced call handler who is able to work 24/7 shift patterns with the ability to work under pressure pro-actively both as a team and standing alone.

The Coordinator plays a key role by providing a professional, responsive central point of reference for GP, staff and patient telephone contacts in order to oversee the smooth operation of the out of hours service and act as supervisor for the shift. On a day to day basis you will be required to oversee the shift and ensure patients are sent to the most appropriate centre and to manage call flows as well as monitor workload and coordinate the teams in all centres and cars to ensure resources are used effectively and the required service standards are met. Furthermore you will ensure all calls have been despatched from Pass call screen to appropriate location as well as Coordinating home visiting team to make best use of resource in delivering care to patients at home. Finally you will be the point of contact to resolve any issues that may occur on shift.

The successful candidate will have experience of leading and managing a team, experience of call handling and working extensively over the phone and remotely on a 24/7 basis. Further to this you will have excellent communication skills, evidence of excellent written and oral skills and well-developed skills in MS Office applications including excellent keyboard skills. You will have the ability to assess, assimilate and act whilst remaining calm and professional under pressure and have evidence of having the ability to maintain effective working relationships with peers, colleagues, patients and their families. Finally you will have the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively and be able to empathise with and reassure patients, relatives and carers in crisis situations.

Please note: This role requires the successful candidate to work in a shift pattern for an average of 32 hours / week to include weekends and nights (one 00:00-08:00 in a 4 weekly period) therefore the successful candidate will be happy to work on a 24/7 basis and your own transport is required. Finally the candidate will be paid a 25% enhancement on the hourly rate for weekends and nights.
