The Pets Category Leader will be responsible for leading Instock, 3P, Site Merchandising and Vendor Management teams and will drive selection addition, pricing sharpness, new customer acquisition, and traffic generation, and create/develop a strong team of functional leaders.
The ideal candidate should be a strong leader and have experience in building vendor relationships, managing inventory, and developing a team. This person will be flexible, action and results oriented, self-starting, have strong analytical skills, and be comfortable with computer databases and tools. He or she must have a proven track record in taking ownership, driving results and moving with speed to implement ideas in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to succeed at: understanding and driving improvements across the full profit and loss statement, team-building, planning and forecasting, and driving sales in an online business.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and lead strategy for all vendor negotiations on an annual basis.
- Recruit new vendors and merchants to the platform to fuel selection addition
- Manage the PL for Pet Supplies
- Drive customer experience projects
- Optimize inventory for high instock rates, high inventory turns and inventory health through programmatic efforts
- Develop and execute merchandising, marketing and merchant addition strategy on an annual basis.
- Create new programs to increase awareness of the Pets category across Amazon.com shoppers and in the general marketplace
- Develop and lead team of functional leaders
- Improve automation and team efficiency across all functions
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 4+ years of relevant online retail leadership experience
- Experience with financial analysis and modeling
- Experience managing direct reports
- Proven negotiations experience
- MBA
- Demonstrated ability to invent continuously
