Category Manager (procurement) – North Ryde Location
About the Job
- Influence, deploy and follow Procurement strategy for the nominated Business Unit
- Directly and indirectly proactively manage nominated Suppliers
- Ensure contracts are in place and negotiated to include the beneficial terms and conditions.
- Ensure nominated suppliers have scorecard, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action Plan (CAP) in place as appropriate.
- Manage the due diligence, discovery and transition of third party contracts and Internal audits show evidence of compliance.
- Identify and execute opportunities for financial returns
- Provides consultancy to various Business Units to ensure innovative, responsive and competitive input to help win business
- Influence, deploy and adhere to applicable Procurement practices, policies and processes ensuring evidence is archived appropriately.
- Improved practices, policies and processes documented, communicated and deployed.
- Relevant experience in a managerial role.
- Advance procurement skills (specifically negotiation, tendering and contracting) and commercial experience.
- Building relationships at all levels in Supplier base and internally.
- Typically degree qualified and preferably accredited by a relevant professional organisation (eg CIPS - Chartered Institute of Purchasing Supply).
- Excellent communication skills (specifically business writing and presentation).
