Job Title : Engineering Lead / Engineering Manager
Location: Fremont, CA / Southfield, MI, USA
Responsibilities
Typical Industry Job profiles- Sr.DESIGNER, LEAD DESIGNER, DESIGN PRIMARY,LEAD DESIGN ENGINEER
Infosys is looking to hire a number of CATIA designers with 3-7 years of experience in Detroit. Additional experience in automotive interiors - instrument panel, console, door trims, soft trims, etc. is a plus. The designer would be working on developing automotive interiors for an automotive OEM.
Support engineering, studio for any product design/data requirements in developing feasible design with help from offshore team
- Provide necessary inputs, clarification, direction to Infosys team based upon discussion with Customer engineering and product development needs
- Responsible for respective sub-system design (Instrument panel, Doors, Consoles, Headliners etc.)
- Maintain issues list and ensure that any unresolved issues affecting the project are resolved with Customer
- Ensure designs are feasible for tooling, manufacturing, assembly, and to meet all specifications, targets, functional objectives.
- Create and review 3D models,2D drawings for every component/part/system
- Ensure project CAD data is maintained in customer’s Team center PLM system
- Provide support for customer engineering to approve level of data at milestones.
- Support status and design reviews with Customer, reviews with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers
- Collaborates with Infosys’ Global delivery team on regular basis in delivering the product designs and provides technical guidance to the team as required.

Skills
1. Must Have Skills/Certifications
- Experience working in automotive seating and/or Interiors, exposure to working with Plastic components. Typical components being,
- Instrument panel, Doors, Consoles, Headliners. (Soft trim/Hard trim)
- Experience working with CatiaV5, Unigraphics. Exposure to Team center Engineering.
- Experience in product development lifecycle starting from concept to release for manufacturing, with focus on product development.
- Knowledge of Automotive standards and processes.
- Strong written verbal communication skills, analytical skills are required in order to effectively work with the clients.
- Willing to work with global design teams located in India.
2. Desired Skills/Certifications
- Knowledge of client specific tools, standards and processes.
Qualification
BE/B. Tech/ME/M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience Required ( In Years)
A Minimum 8 years (96 months) of experience with listed Responsibilities and skillsets is required for this role

This role requires flexibility to relocate within the United States
