CDM Compliance Analyst
Mercy Health System of Southeastern Pennsylvania has an immediate full time
position available for a CDM (Charge Description Master) Compliance Analyst.
This position is based in our Corporate Office in Conshohocken, PA.
The CDM compliance Analyst assists the Senior CDM Analyst in maintaining an
accurate and complete chargemaster to ensure appropriate reimbursement and
compliance with government billing regulations.
Primary responsibilities are:
Analyzing CDM request forms for completeness and accuracy
Performing reviews and audits as assigned by the Director of CDM Compliance or
Senior CDM Analyst
Communicating regularly with department directors, staff responsible for
charge entry and hospital finance
Working with Sr. CDM Analyst and Director of CDM Compliance to develop
training tools for hospital department staff to assist with charging, compliance
and documentation
Making changes to the CDM as needed to resolve claims issues
Participating as a member of the CDM group on elements of the Mercy Health
System compliance plan
Demonstrating proficiency in the hospital's information systems to ensure data
entered is accurate and detailed
Qualified candidates will possess the following combination of education and
experience:
BA/BS in appropriate field with 3-4 years of Charge Master, coding or billing
experience (Medicare or other 3rd party payor) in an acute care setting;
clinical or HIM background preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology
ICD-9, CPT and HCPCS coding proficiency
Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/UB04 revenue coding, modifiers, Medicare APCs and
billing regulations, DRG's and documentation standards
Knowledge of fee schedules, 3rd party billing, and documentation standards
Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office suite (including Excel) and
hospital information systems (Meditech preferred).
An overall knowledge of the functions and activities of hospitals,
understanding of compliance, knowledge of various payment systems and skill in
performing searches on the Internet
