Centralized Pharmacy Ops Mgr – (MT

Responsible for management of all aspects of Pharmacy services at identified centralized Pharmacy locations (e.g., CPP, PCC, CRP, MOPC). Ensures compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations, statewide Pharmacy Operations objectives, policies and procedures. Provides direction and leadership to subordinate Centralized Pharmacy Supervisors, Pharmacist-in-Charge and other supervisory/administrative employees. Minimal to no online dispensing duty. Manages operations in a centralized dispensing Pharmacy location with a scope of service that encompasses an entire region. Performs other duties as required.

Essential Functions:
- Assists Manager Regional Pharmacy Services with development and implementation of Pharmacy strategic initiatives.
- Participates in design, implementation and evaluation of systems, processes and methods designed to enhance quality, improve service and enhance cost effectiveness.
- Collaborates with providers, department heads and Manager Regional Pharmacy Services to implement, evaluate and improve quality management programs.
- Provides leadership and direction of Pharmacy services/activities/functions including drug distribution, mail order services, drug education, Pharmacist clinical activities, retail business expansion, performance measurements, regulatory compliance, employee development and multi-disciplinary team development in a centralized Pharmacy/location with a regional scope of service.
- Sphere of influence includes Pharmacy staff, other members of the Pharmacy management team, CA regional Pharmacy leadership team, providers, department/facility administrators, medical group leadership, health plan leadership, union representatives, KPIT and outside vendors.
- Monitors the effectiveness of and directs provision of engineering activities (including preventive maintenance) to computer system interfaces and operation of the automated filling process and related robotics equipment.
- Participates Manages department staff and operations to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations, TJC, OSHA, SBOP, statewide and department policies and procedures.
- Administers organization and department policies and procedures.
- Provides staff management (e.g., recruits, hires, trains and evaluates and/or terminates subordinate exempt and hourly personnel), involved in strategic workforce planning and succession planning.
- Communicates regularly with Centralized Pharmacy Supervisors to inform, support, mentor, coach and Communicates regularly with Centralized Pharmacy Supervisors to inform, support, mentor, coach and develop their knowledge and skills.
- Provides direction and leadership to supervisory and management employees.
- May assist subordinate managers to prepare and/or approve biweekly payroll.
- Monitors and makes adjustment to staff utilization in accordance with operating budget.
- Develops and recommends departmental operating budget (payroll and non-payroll).
- As designated, serves as Pharmacy leadership point of contact by developing strong collaborative relationships with Pharmacy, health plan and/or medical group leadership from the service area /medical center, medical offices to achieve regional, service area and medical center goals.
- Provides resolution of service complaints by health plan members, other Kaiser health care professionals, department heads and employees.
- Works with Human Resources to handle employee grievances.
- Minimal to no online dispensing duties.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Pharmacy required.
- Current CA Registered Pharmacist License
- Usually two (2) years previous supervisory/management experience in an integrated delivery system or healthcare network comprised of multiple sites/facilities.
- Must have a working knowledge of applicable Federal and State pharmacy regulations, TJC and OSHA requirements.
- Must possess the ability to lead and manage professionals and others through influence and collaboration in single and/or multiple pharmacies.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to and work with a professional team.
- Able to demonstrate and apply knowledge of contemporary outpatient pharmacy operations principles and standards including clinical, professional, legal, business and public relations aspects.
- Able to extract pertinent information from patients or other sources to apply to the patient's medical management plan.
- Demonstrated abilities and skills in pharmacy business management, customer problem-resolution, leadership and supervision.
- Must possess self-initiative, innovative and collaborative skills.
- Proficiency in various databases and other computer usage.
- Must possess advanced communication skills necessary to be the administrative point-of-contact for leadership and work collaboratively with and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
- Able to demonstrate proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
- Must pass background check.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharm. D. preferred
- Previous courses completed in Pharmacy business management or related subjects preferred.
