CEO – GREEN BUILDING CONSTRUCTION START

Our client is an innovative manufacturer in the emerging field of daylighting, with a window glaze technology that dramatically increases the reflection and direction of natural light into buildings, making commercial and residential spaces brighter and saving money and reducing a building’s carbon footprint. Their cost-effective green solutions are LEED and BREEAM compatible, and are appropriate for new construction and retrofitting, and they hold solid U.S. and foreign patents to protect their unique technology.

The company has been based in Europe, but is now in the final stages of moving operations to the U.S., and has asked us to find them the right CEO to lead the expansion.

Our ideal candidate fits the following criteria:

• Extensive executive-level experience managing business operations of a major player in the glazing and window film world (3M, Kodak, Dow, Siemens Lighting);

• Experience as a CEO in a start-up or early stage company where you were integral in raising funding (they have one pending infusion, and another larger one in the works);

• An understanding and a love of the manufacturing business model, as well as a passion for green energy and sustainability;

• Strong and confident in marketing and sales, seeing opportunities, working with clients, speaking at conferences and getting the buzz and the story out;

• A technical background (physics, optics, mechanical or civil engineering would be ideal); an MBA is a plus;

• Experience working with contractors, architects and building owners; an understanding of regulatory issues in architecture and engineering is a plus;

• The desire to take a long-term leadership role and strategically build the company into a world leader;

• The freedom and interest in working for reduced pay plus stock options until the next cash comes in (perhaps a few months), and once things are rolling, a market-rate competitive comp plan;

• Ideally, live in Northern California because that is where other key execs are (though we will consider candidates who aren’t, as it is possible that offices could be established elsewhere);

• Willing and able to travel extensively, domestic and international.

We don’t expect you to have all of this, but if you fit most of these things, we’d love to hear from you. Please send your resume with a cover note to leslie@peopleconnectstaffing.com In the note, let us know which of these criteria you meet, and why you think it could be a fit.
