Job Purpose:
Provides food services by maintaining cafeteria operations; providing food services for special meetings and events; monitoring vending services; supervising staff

Duties:
* Accomplishes food services human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.

* Meets food services operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.

* Meets food services financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.

* Maintains food services supplies by recommending qualified food suppliers to director of purchasing.

* Maintains food services equipment by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

* Plans menus and oversees food preparation and service by consulting with chefs and staff group leaders.

* Plans menus for special events by collaborating with event sponsor; informing and consulting with chefs and staff group leaders.

* Gathers feedback and commentary about food and service by interviewing guests in food line and at dining tables; conducting written evaluations following special events; reviewing guest suggestions.

* Obtains temporary contract workers by using agencies; providing on-the-job training.

* Monitors vending machine service by making routine, periodic inspections; notifying vendors of noted deficiencies.

* Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing food preparation, presentation, and service protocols; implementing changes.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

* Enhances food service and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
