Certified NC Jig Bore Job in Euclid 44117, Ohio US

Eaton's Aerospace Group located in Euclid, OH has an opening for a NC Jig Bore machinist.

Critical for success in this role is the ability to:

•Set-up, maintain, and operate one or more tape or direct computer controller N/C machines and/or precision mill/bore/grind machines to produce finished dimensions and characteristics on a variety of tooling and/or production parts and components.
•Perform visual and dimensional inspections and maintain accurate documentation on a variety of parts in accordance with ANSI Y14-5 and the certified operator program.
•Assist other operators on proper operational procedures.
•Perform housekeeping and other job related duties as assigned by supervisor.
•Perform sub-assembly operations.
•Perform power flush operations.
•Use equipment to machine or inspect a variety of first run sample, or production parts or assemblies.
•Obtain, read, and interpret complex prints for dimensions and other data.
•Obtain gages, tapes, process set-up sheet, fixtures, and tools. Determine set-up work sequence, dimensional sizes, positioning and tolerances.
•Assemble and pre-set tools and with the aid of indicators, surface plate, micrometers, gages, special fixtures or optical tool setting equipment to predetermined dimensions.
•Complete all necessary preparatory work such as alignment of part, table and indexing position, spindle position, etc., prior to actual work.
•Use a variety of standard gages, measuring devices and complex precision gages such as air gages and electronic gages to check work and determine conformance to specifications.
•Parts worked on may have extremely tight tolerances and require a high degree of attentiveness to the process.
•Install and thread tape in reading head of control system or notify computer to set-up part program. Operate machine to verify tape for tool selections, tool settings, and speeds and feeds as specified on set-up sheet prior to machining part.
•Monitor cutting action, observe control panel indicators, positioning and sequence display lights to detect errors. Correct malfunctions: Calculate and actuate control movements essential to relieving cutting problems caused by tool jamming and tool breakage, which are incidental to the multi-plane action of the machine.
•May be required to make minor changes through editing of data in CNC Controller.
•Perform necessary part marking.
•Maintain set-up by changing and resetting tools, changing tapes, realigning fixtures, and making necessary control adjustments to obtain size, form, location and finish.
•Work cooperatively with the programmer, engineer, and foreman to prove out new tapes and tooling, which may include the reworking of fixtures.
•Maintain accurate lot control (QCP 6.0) traceability, record keeping, log book entries, NCR’s (QCP 11.0) and associated documentation.

•Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
•Have 2 years set-up and operation of precision milling machines; one year of which must be on NC/CNC machining centers.
•Become a certified operator within 40 days of becoming active on the code.
•Pass Eaton Math/Blueprint Reading Assessments.
•Pass Eaton Vision test.
•Have applicable personal tools and gages.
•Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
