Job Purpose:
Full time position for an Assistant Vice President within the European Financial Regulation (EFR) department located in Canary Wharf.
Job Background/context:
The Department
The role of the department is to ensure that the UK regulated entities fully comply with the Financial Rules and guidelines of their regulator, the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
EFR calculate and monitor regulatory capital and report to senior management and the FSA.
The department also reviews new products and new transactions to assess their regulatory impact.
The team's role entails identification of exposures, calculation of the Regulatory Capital Requirements and production of analysis covering liquidity, credit risk and market risk for the groups UK
entities. This covers products such as: loans, commitments, deposits, vanilla and complex derivatives, secured financing, delivery versus payment, as well as fixed income and equity products.
Key Responsibilities:
The Role
A vacancy exists for a Assistant Vice President who will be responsible for and manage the team performing daily, monthly and quarterly reporting to the FSA. The team's role entails identification of
exposures, calculation of the Regulatory Capital Requirements and production of analysis covering liquidity, credit risk and market risk.
The role will also involve participating in various projects, including system enhancements and process improvements, such as those to reflect the changing regulatory environment in line with Basel
III, plus cross training within EFR to enhance understanding.
The successful candidate will be expected to become familiar with the relevant FSA Financial Rules and guidelines and gain an understanding of the products booked in our regulated entities. The
role will also provide wide exposure to other areas within the firm such as Product Control, Technology, Projects, Legal, Compliance and Financial Reporting Control.
Team responsibilities include:
Preparation of daily capital and liquidity calculations, monitoring and reporting to senior management.
Preparation of returns and working papers for submission to the FSA.
Preparation, on rotation, of the Daily Capital Summary Package for senior management.
Preparation of the reconciliations between EuroCars (the firm's regulatory reporting system) and the general ledger relating for all relevant products and investigate any differences arising.

Skills
Knowledge/Experience:
- Basel 2 / Basel 3 / COREP experience highly advantageous
- Proven leadership skills
- Able to show excellent attention to detail in a demanding work environment
- Demonstrate the ability to meet reporting and project deadlines
Qualifications:
- Graduate
- CIMA / ACA or equivalent preferred.
