The UBS Operational Finance team is looking for a keen and enthusiastic accountant to join its Wealth Management Group Run-the-Bank team.
The position is primarily a multi-faceted monthly reporting role with a broad set of responsibilities and is a rare opportunity to join this well regarded team. The role will provide the right candidate with a strong grounding in both Financial Management Accounting and control-based issues confronted in a wealth manager and will provide them with a good overview of the UBS Wealth Management business.
The ideal candidate will have a proven history in the financial services and/or Audit sector and be preferably a member of CIMA/ACCA/ACA , or equivalent international qualification.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Deep understanding of RDR and WM business in general
- Co-working with the Run the Bank Team to introduce or update process and efficiency improvements into the existing working practice
- Review and suggest changes to month end control processes including the reporting of assets and net new money to Switzerland.
- Responsibility for the GMIS process and any change requirements.
- Responsible for all changes/additions across the Accounting function and ensure robust design of controls around finance processes.
- Delivery of ad hoc requests for data from Front Office systems for delivery to other London and Swiss-based systems.
- Responsible for all UAT testing, scoping of change requirements with IT and dealing with senior stakeholders.
You will have the following skills and experience:
- Strong practical financial control experience or academics.
- Very strong CTB (Change credentials).
- Experienced in Excel, good knowledge of Access.
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Previous experience of a stock broker or wealth manager.
- Proven history in banking or audit firm.
- Good communicator with ability to work to deadlines.
- Willingness to question existing processes and suggest improvements.
- Prefer experience with WM Change –and systems like CLAS, GGL, Paladign.
