GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
As a Channel Development Analyst, you will be responsible for providing timely business sales insights to the Alternate Channel sales team using a variety of information sources.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Pull, analyze, and make recommendations based on all internal data, the retailers POS/internal data, syndicated information (i.e. IRI, Nielsen, SPS, Retail Link) and consumer/shopper insights from research available for each category under review.
- Provide long-term strategic category/channel based selling recommendations to drive the AdvancePierre Food’s brands. This includes building integrated plans and conceptual selling presentations that sell the value of APF’s brands and categories in the context of customer objectives, needs and strategies of the customer.
- Monitor, evaluate and provide reports to the sales team on the results of our brands and the category, using a variety of syndicated data, internal data and consumer insights to track and analyze distribution, merchandising, sales trends, rankings, forecasts by brand, and promotional opportunities.
- Is involved in customer meetings where expertise can be used to help reinforce the content of the meeting.
- Develop presentations and provide supporting information in order to increase or protect distribution, space, and promotions.
- Identify and analyze those portions of business that will influence decision-making and provide models for use throughout APF’s.
- Responsible for managing all trade spend planning and tracking within the Alternate Sales Channel.
- Directs, coordinates, and manages most projects within the division.
- Travel is expected to be 20% of the time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred candidates possess a BS degree with 2-5 years of experience in analytics in the CPG space. Previous category/channel management experience preferred.
- Must have experience in Retail Link, MS Excel 2007, MS Word 2007, MS PowerPoint 2007, IRI and/or Nielsen.
