Position Description:
As a key member of the PIMCO Global Wealth Management (GWM) Marketing Communications (Marcomm) team, the Institutional Financial Advisor (IFA) channel marketing manager will partner closely with account managers and business leaders of the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA)/Family Office and Bank Trust divisions to identify marketing opportunities and execute activities and initiatives that contribute toward the achievement of asset acquisition and retention goals.
The position is based in Newport Beach, California, however, it will be managed from, and include frequent interaction with, New York. Travel between locations will be required and exceptional communication skills are critical in order to stay fully integrated with NY-based colleagues.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with marketing and business colleagues to set strategic marketing direction for the channel.
• Plan, prepare, execute and measure ROI-oriented marketing activities and initiatives that align with client needs, account management focus and PIMCO corporate objectives.
• Identify new and innovative strategies to create and maintain strong, dynamic relationships with advisors. Fully incorporate advisor segmentation and profiling into these initiatives.
• Advance critically important digital communications efforts in the channel.
• In addition to the strategic efforts outlined above, execute tactically on a day-to-day basis.
• Participate in, and lead at times, the weekly team call, creating marketing awareness, training on new pieces and programs, providing activity updates and soliciting input and feedback.
• Collaborate with Marcomm colleagues to develop print and electronic communications, web presence, event presence, thought leadership, product positioning pieces, sales support materials, articles and other efforts that align with channel business goals.
• Form a fully integrated relationship with marketing managers on the Marcomm distribution marketing team - sharing ideas, leveraging efforts, forming and fostering a culture of best practices.
• Build strong partnerships with the members of the IFA channel team and internal colleagues across all departments of the firm including marcomm, product management, compliance and others.
• Obtain all required approvals and feedback for proposed plans, schedules and budgets before execution of projects, and coordinate activity with members of the marketing team.

Position Requirements:
• Relevant marketing experience in the RIA and/or broker/dealer marketplaces.
• Must have a strong understanding of the RIA channel, particularly marketing needs.
• Demonstrable record of success in acquiring, developing and retaining assets through the execution of integrated marketing programs.
• Proven ability to work with client-facing teams to create and implement impactful marketing
• Desire to want to innovate and learn about these evolving channels.
• Bachelor's degree with emphasis in marketing or finance; MBA preferred.
• 5-10 years of financial services industry experience; astute familiarity with investment management, product and the sales process.
• Exceptional communications skills to collaborate with internal and external business partners at all levels. Critical to maintaining the required connection to the NY-based Marcomm function.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to negotiate tactfully and work effectively as a team member.
• Highly organized and attentive to detail.
