Chapters Dieppe: Seasonal Customer Experience Representatives
The CER role is the customer facing representative of Indigo Books Music Inc. It provides the first and last point of contact for customers, which is critical to delivering a life enriching experience, each and every time they visit our stores.
The seasonal period is from October 1, 2011 to January 14, 2012 and you must be available throughout this period. Scheduled shifts range from 5am to midnight and are generally between 3 and 8 hours. Seasonal candidates must be available from 5am until midnight. Please note that this availability requirement does not guarantee hours and your schedule will be based on the needs of the business.
As part of our exciting in-store team, your focus will be:
People:
- Contribute to team spirit among fellow employees
- Represent Indigo Books Music Inc. as a brand ambassador while interacting with the local community both in and out of the store
Sales:
- Build customer relationships by uncovering their story and getting to know their needs, recommending products they may like and closing sales positively
- Create excitement with the customer regarding new product, promotions and programs
- Have a willingness to share knowledge to positively impact overall store sales
Operations:
- Solve issues, working through them and escalating to a leader when required
- Challenge yourself to find new and innovative ways to add joy to the customer experience
- Be creative, willing to take risks and learn from your experiences
- Practice flexibility, being positive and accepting of new initiatives and provide constructive feedback appropriately
- Assist in general store merchandising and maintain organization and cleanliness of the store
- Perform additional tasks to improve the customer experience as required
Job Requirements :
You are the ideal candidate if you have:
- A solid understanding of customer service
- A willingness to learn and demonstrate effective sales techniques
- An interest in building customer relationships
- The ability to take an initiative and solve problems
- The availability to work varying shifts between 5am and midnight
- Strong multitasking and organization skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- The ability to work independently and within a team
- Familiarity with technology applications (MS Office)
- Retail/service sector experience (asset)
- General merchandising experience (asset)
- Indigo product-line knowledge (asset)
Please be aware that bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
