Mercy Health System Physician Practices has full time Certified Charge Entry
Coder positions immediately available to support our primary and specialty care
offices located in the communities surrounding our member hospitals:
Mercy Suburban Hospital ( East Norriton, PA)
Nazareth Hospital (Northeast Philadelphia)
Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital ( Lansdowne, PA)
Mercy Philadelphia (West Philadelphia)
The Charge Entry Coder is responsible for ensuring the efficient, effective,
timely and accurate collection and entering of patient information and charge
entry into patient encounters. He/she works collaboratively with the practice
physicians and managers to ensure key metrics are achieved, and correct coding
errors, denials or issues encountered in the revenue cycle process.
Candidates must possess the following combination of education and experience:
Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC ) from the AAPC or CCS-P
from AHIMA
HS Diploma or equivalency
Knowledge of CPT and ICD 9/10 codes, payer requirements, HIPPA regulations and
standard governmental billing requirements
Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
Able to work efficiently, effectively with patient information and charge
entry (95% accuracy)
Understand the importance of accuracy related to charge entry to avoid claim
denials/delays
PC skills including Microsoft Office
Good communications and customer service skills
