CHARTERED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CF30) recruitment
The successful candidate will promote and provide a comprehensive financial planning service to new and existing clients with particular reference to Investment, Protection, Pension Planning, Corporate Protection, and Inheritance Tax Mitigation. They will develop, promote and oversee the day to day running of the IFA operation. The role holder will also operate as the Pension Transfer Specialist (G60).
Core Responsibilities:
- Ensure a detailed knowledge and understanding of the firm’s compliance procedures, including pension transfer and opt-out business.
- Ensure that effective records are retained and maintained.
- Ensure compliance with the terms of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, the FSA Statements of Principle and Code of Practice and the relevant FSA rules, at all times.
- Comply with the relevant Compliance, TCF, T and C, financial crime and Anti-Money Laundering Procedures of the firm, at all times.
- Ensure that all members of staff within the Department are aware of their responsibilities with regard to Compliance and the ongoing servicing of business for existing and new clients.
- Ensure comprehensive current knowledge of all relevant product, legislative and technical changes.
- Ensure all pension transfer and opt-out cases are reviewed before the recommendation is given to the client and formally sign off the new business sheet, appropriately.
- Maintain an accurate and current record of all pension transfers and opt-outs reviewed by the firm, including clients which did not transfer.
- Maintain a current record of any pension transfer/opt-out that has been arranged on an execution only, insistent customer or correspondence only basis.
- Ensure all communication with clients is conducted in accordance with the firm’s client care procedures and that the appropriate standard documentation is used.
- Ensure that relationships with referring fee earners are acknowledged, by means of copy correspondence and that if legal advice is required the client is referred back to the referring fee-earner in the first instance.
- Responsible for the recruitment, selection, supervision and development of subordinate staff.
- This includes undertaking annual appraisals; regular one-to-one meetings and appropriate performance management in respect of predetermined key performance indicators.
- Aim for a zero complaints record and a zero incidence of premature termination of regular premium policies.
- Lead by example and participate fully and co-operate with the firm’s Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer and associated auditing bodies.
- Agree appropriate business targets for each member of your team and take all reasonable steps and endeavours to achieve these targets whilst ensuring good standards of client care.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
- Provide guidance in respect of appropriate continuous professional development for the Independent Financial Advisers.
- Ensure maintenance and recording of own continuous professional development.
Core Requirements:
- Currently be a Financial Adviser – not necessarily Independent.
- Hold either G60 or AF3.
- Be self-motivated and have the ability to work on your own initiative.
- Either currently be or willing to work towards Chartered status.
