This is a temporary position (length of assignment to be determined) The Student Loan Representative I, responds to inbound customer calls related to taking payments, updating demographics, password resets, payoff balances and hardship requests. The position also requires the ability to accurately review comments in the account history in order to advise customers of the status of pending requests and/or understanding prior calls. Attention to detail, providing an excellent customer experience and a focus on customer service are essential skills for this position. To meet these demands, the representative will be required to understand the firm's service policies, systems and legal compliance regulations as well as our products and services. Responsibilities · Handle multiple inbound calls from customers in a time sensitive environment. · Determines customer needs through use of probing techniques. · Determines what needs to be done to assist the borrower through review of account history and accurately advise next steps. · Understand and utilize department and corporate policies and procedures to verify identification of customer. · May respond to customer inquiries referring them to published materials, secondary sources, or senior staff. · Ability to multi-function and accurately account for time and performance. · Treat each customer contact professionally with end goal of attaining "first call resolution." · Review and accurately respond to customers on accurate processing times, setting realistic expectations. · Ability to follow up on outstanding requests, escalates trends and issues, and takes ownership of customer issues. *Must be available for any 8 hour shift between 8AM and 9PM* M-F with shift times: starting as early as 8:00am to as late as 12:00pm, ending as late as 9:00pm and include Saturdays
