Adecco Engineering and Technical has an immediate Contract to Hire Opportunity for a Chemical Process Engineer position with our client in Austin, TX.

The individual will perform tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

Designs, lays out, and implements new manufacturing and test processes to support customer products. Develops and implements continuous flow concepts and/or Lean methodology to drive drown product cycle time. Defines process problems that lead to throughput or quality issues, evaluates cause of problem, implements solutions to stabilize processes, and evaluates results. Develops test/ assembly processes, associated fixtures and specialized tools. Develops and executes assembly/test strategy for new products including design for manufacture and test (DFT) analysis and feedback.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of the design process for systems and printed circuit boards, subassemblies, or other related company products.
  • In depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment used for application of chemical coatings with proven experience in installation and startup.
  • In depth knowledge of adhesives and conformal coating materials used in the construction of systems and printed circuit boards and subassemblies. Ability to evaluate polymer characterization techniques (DSC, DMA, etc) for process optimization.
  • In depth knowledge of EHS requirements including chemical evaluation / introduction and hazardous waste monitoring / reduction.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • In depth knowledge of statistical analyses, methods and techniques.
  • In depth knowledge of industry and quality standards and SPC methodologies.
  • Ability to design tests, evaluate results and recommend solutions to improve the processes associated with cleaning, masking and coating product.
  • Proven ability to evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot problems preferably using the DMAIC method.
  • Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously and coordinate multiple, changing deadlines.
