Chemical Technicians Category: Chemical-Lab enviroment Type: Description: The successful candidate will work on interdisciplinary RD teams to develop new materials and processes targeting emerging markets and opportunities. Additionally, he/she will; * Collect and analyze data utilizing a variety of test equipment and instrumentation * Maintain written records (laboratory notebook) of all results in an orderly and established manner * Reports data and information to appropriate personnel within the organization * Completes assigned tasks on time, after the objectives are explained * Takes initiative and proactively communicates issues that may cause delays * Assures equipment is operating properly and is routinely maintained * Interacts with vendors and utilizes internal purchasing system for efficient procurement of materials and supplies Follows safe work practices and is proactive in implementing safety and housekeeping improvements Requirements: * Associate's or BS degree in science or engineering or High School Diploma or equivalent plus 7 years of relevant industrial experience * Familiarity with laboratory equipment and operations * Good mechanical aptitude, demonstrated ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot pilot and/or laboratory equipment * Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook) * Positive work attitude and initiative; proactively seek best practices for improving efficiency, ability to work within a team environment * Strong communication skills (verbal and written) both within technology and cross-functionally Desired * Experience in a machine shop, laboratory and with handling chemicals * Familiarity with batch mixing of glass powders, and operating PLC controlled furnaces * Experience mounting, polishing and microscopic evaluation of metallographic samples Location Cleveland, OH Minimum Experience (yrs): Required Education: Not Specified Salary: Open Benefits:
