Today, we are proud to offer a temporary 1 year or longer contract Chemist position for a Fortune 500 Chemical company in Freeport, TX. This role requires a four year science degree with at least two years of college chemistry and some working experience in a fast paced research lab setting. The purpose of this job is to perform non-routine lab research and provide other technical support for projects and a working knowledge of aqueous acid/base chemistry is needed to understand the gas treating process and analytical procedures being use or developed. Develop methods, implement and run routine analytical instrumentation such as IC, LC, or Gas Chromatography, ICP spectroscopy, coulometry, wet chemistry methods and any other analytical equipment required for research projects. Provide occasional backup support for routine customer sample analyses in the lab. This position requires excellent people skills. Candidate will frequently interact with a wide range of personnel ranging from contractors, lab techs, chemists, engineers and vendor technical reps. All candidates should be capable of passing a 7 year criminal background investigation and drug screen for consideration.
