Chemist - Research and Development - East Houston
Kelly Scientific Resources is currently recruiting candidates for a Research and Development facility in East Houston. Qualified candidates will have a BS in Chemistry or related science, preferably with industry work experience in a petrochemical laboratory. Responsibilities of the position are as follows: Operation, maintenance, trouble-shooting of both lab-scale and pilot scale catalyst testing units. Operation, maintenance, trouble-shooting of online or offline analytical instruments for analyzing samples from catalyst testing units including SIMDIS, GC, GC-MS, elemental analyzer, and TGA. Distillation of hydrocarbon samples in glassware i.e. rotavap operation. Separation of hydrocarbon samples via various wet-chemistry methods including solvent extraction, precipitation, filtration, etc. Maintaining accurate laboratory notebook records and Excel spreadsheets. Routine calibration of all instruments, including statistical analysis for repeatability and accuracy. This is a long term contract position, Monday through Friday day shift, with pay commensurate upon level of education and experience.
