Job Responsibilities:

·         Work with New Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, and customers to develop and test Flex Lam products for new applications: focus on water based adhesives.

·         Support US and international customers.  Participate in customer trials, provide recommendations, convey product capabilities, and assist in resolving difficult issues.

·         Provide external and internal training related to product application, process, substrate evaluation and QC testing.

·         Work at bench to develop new products, qualify new polymers and second sources, and investigate complicated problems. 

·         Interface with analytical lab and interpret testing results to guide the product development and resolve customers’ applications issues. 

·         Provide technical support to manufacturing plants. 

·         Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines, and Bostik specific EHS expectations. 

Job Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Science.

·         Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in Product Development or Technical Service is preferred.

·         Industrial experience with flexible packaging adhesives and coating and laminating equipment desired.

·         Strong knowledge of natural and synthetic water based polymers, and modifiers desired.

·         Good laboratory practices and experimental design skills.

·         Familiar with OSHA, safety procedures, and FDA regulations and other international regulations for food packaging.

·         Good people skills and leadership skills.

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to make presentations at both customer sites and technical communities. 

·         Ability to work independently and in a team. 

·         Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or similar programs.

·         Ability to travel 30% of the time.
