Chemist/Lab Technician Job Description Daily activity to include the following: *Prepare chemical solutions for products or processing following standardized formulas or create experimental formulas *Develop or conduct programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards of raw materials and products *Monitor and record product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications *Operate laboratory equipment to test and produce compounds *Work on improving process efficiencies, quality and consistency *Evaluate mixing techniques and compound ingredients to achieve product improvements; *Develop new chemical engineering processes or production techniques *Inform team leaders and process manager immediately of any mixing problems *Monitor critical process deviation and/or product losses *Ensure completeness and compliance of all required documentation during the manufacturing process *Provide technical support to laboratory technician *Comply with all safety and environmental regulations Required: College degree is a plus but not required; rubber compounding experience; experience with rubber processing equipment, mixing, extrusion, and calendaring.
