KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides executive control of instructional functions by exercising delegated level of authority over curriculum alignment and implementation, as directed by the Superintendent and the Board. Time Spent: 40%
Ensures the instructional program is in compliance with state standards, both internal and external, by providing K-12 curriculum alignment and implementation, Professional Development, Student Services, CTAE, Adult Education, Instructional Technology, Gifted Education, Federal Programs, Special Projects, ESOL, REA, Special Education, Performing Arts, Athletics and WorkTec. Time Spent: 40%
Supervises senior staff members responsible for specific instructional functions, setting performance standards and objectives, providing proper training and professional development opportunities, evaluating performance. Time Spent: 15%
Represents the Superintendent in an official capacity as required. Time Spent: 5%
Key responsibilities may include other duties as assigned.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Formal Education: Master’s degree in education or related field with certification in educational leadership/administration. Doctorate preferred.
* Work Experience: 5 years experience as a principal, preferably serving in one or more school levels and/or school positions. Successful experience in the selection, supervision and evaluation of school based administrators, for the effective and efficient operation of all elementary, middle, high, and alternative schools.
* Certification/Licenses: Georgia Professional Certification at a Level 5 or higher in Education Leadership or Instructional/Curriculum Leadership.
* Impact of Actions: Proven ability to work under pressure and coordinate within all levels of District management.
* Decision Making: Proven ability to work under pressure and coordinate within all levels of District management.
* Internal Communication: Requires regular contact with internal personnel of importance and influence. Team player with the ability to interdepartmental and interdivisional

* Managerial Skills: Responsible for supervising multiple functions with full accountability for effective operation and results. Excellent written and verbal and communication skills; excellent presentations skills with the ability to develop executive presentations. Ability to apply new and changed governmental accounting practices and announcements to the District’s accounting processes and procedures. High attention to detail; ability to conduct to financial data analyses, justification and forecast studies. Strategic thinker with ability to develop a strategic framework for comprehensive school reform.
