Chief Analyst – Deputy Director for Analysis recruitment

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the highest level of government and focus on key public services priorities such as health, crime, housing, welfare, and education.

You’ll be working as part of a dynamic new team drawn from a variety of backgrounds to help deliver the government’s objectives in public service reform.

As the leader of a team of Senior Analysts, you will take charge of the quality assurance of all the Performance and Reform Unit’s analytical content. You will build analytical capability across the Unit and wider Treasury and support the timely development of rigorous new products and approaches while overseeing reporting processes.

About the individual

Known as an expert on data and methods of research and analysis, you will command the respect of senior stakeholders. Whether you have a background in Whitehall or outside government, you will have the ability to draw on the best and most relevant work in economics, social research, statistics, operational research, science, and other specialisms.

Your broad-based understanding of public service delivery and reform will be supported by a PhD in quantitative social science. Your capacity to understand a brief quickly and work at pace to develop solutions to emerging issues will ensure you excel in this role.
