Chief Compliance Officer recruitment
The chief compliance officer is expected to assume increasing levels of responsibility over time. The position will allow for significant growth opportunities in a collaborative environment. The chief compliance officer may also assume the position of chief legal officer depending on candidate qualifications.
Immediate responsibilities will include:
- ongoing development and implementation of firm’s policies and procedures
- compliance risk assessment and monitoring
- monitoring and management of all changes in regulatory environment
- preparation of all regulatory filings
- legal document work with external Canadian and offshore counsel
- management and review of investor communications
- investor documentation management and reporting
The candidate must be self-motivated and resourceful with a strong work ethic. The candidate must have superior organizational skills and be extremely detail oriented. Ideal qualifications include:
- undergraduate university degree in relevant field
- legal degree an asset
- strong track record of academic and professional achievement
- CFA designation an asset
- CSC exam successful completion; ideally PDO exam successful completion
- minimum 3-5 years of experience with a registered investment advisor or registered investment dealer
- offshore fund experience an asset
- strong knowledge of fund management
- strong knowledge of regulatory and legal reporting procedures
- strong computer skills, including strong spreadsheet analysis capability
- strong oral and communication skills
- high level of interest in financial markets and products
