SmithGroup, a nationally recognized, award-winning architectural, engineering, planning, and interior design firm with offices nationwide, is currently seeking a qualified Chief Electrical Engineer for our Phoenix office.
Supervises the electrical staff in a practice group. This includes project assignments, goal setting, mentoring, feedback, performance review, and assistance in professional development and education. Assures that technical, schedule and hours expended targets are met in accordance with client expectations and applicable professional standards. Ability to lead large projects and project teams is a must. PE license, degree, and supervisory background, as well as related experience in the A/E industry required. LEED AP preferred. Minimum 15 years related technical design and consulting engineering experience designing power, lighting, and special systems for new and renovated healthcare, research lab, and other critical building types. Proficiency in SKM or other electrical systems evaluation programs. Familiarity with NFPA, ICC and all local codes and supplements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to communicate with clients and colleagues at all levels are a must.
