POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Chief Financial Officer
DEPARTMENT: Finance
SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, directs and coordinates the activities of all financial aspects of the organization in an effort to assist management and shareholders in making educated economic decisions about the organization’s future. Responsible for the accurate and timely dissemination of information in various aspects of the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, purchasing and payroll for multiple entities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare reports that summarize and forecast the organization’s business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and expected operations.
Oversee the activities of the Finance Department ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchasing, petty cash, expense reports and payroll processing.
Develop and maintain a broad understanding of the business and specific functional area in order to analyze operational issues for changes and early identification and management of risks to the business results, either actual or planned.
Directs the annual outside review by the organization’s CPA firm.
Responsible for all treasury management functions.
Provide accurate and timely financial analysis and statement preparation.
Responsible for ensuring proper property and casualty coverage. Negotiates coverage and tracks changes.
Negotiate contracts with outside vendors and other entities.
Prepare and/or review operating budgets.
Responsible for cash management across multiple corporate entities.
Member of the pension committee tasked with fiduciary oversight and operational compliance of the organization’s defined contribution plan.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; MBA and/or CPA highly desirable.
Strong Excel, Word and mid-range accounting system skills required; Microsoft Dynamics or similar software experience a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of the organization
EXPERIENCE:
10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in healthcare.
