The appointment of an exceptional Chief Financial Officer, to provide strong financial leadership to support the sustainable growth and development of the University, is therefore of critical importance at this time.
The role
- A strategic position, accountable for enabling Aston’s mission through delivery of sustainable growth in key areas to provide financial flexibility and critical mass.
- Reporting directly into the Vice-Chancellor and working with senior colleagues to develop, execute and support the University’s strategic plan in a rapidly changing and competitive environment.
- Leadership of the University’s revenue generating strategies, strategic financial planning and capital investment, financial aspects of risk management as well as strategies to optimise the effective and efficient utilisation of resources and processes.
The candidate
- Qualified Accountant, graduate calibre with sharp intellect and outstanding track record of senior financial leadership. Energetic, innovative and entrepreneurial, able to identify and manage the risk of new commercial opportunities for the benefit of the University.
- First class negotiator, with excellent interpersonal as well as strong communication and analytical skills. Sound judgment and an engaging and collaborative style.
- Identifies and has empathy with the values and objectives of the University and Higher Education.
