Job DescriptionJPMorgan Chase Co is a global financial institution comprising of seven main businesses - Investment Bank, Retail Financial Services, Card Services, Commercial Banking, Treasury Security Services, Asset Management and Corporate. The Chief Investment Office (CIO) is a division within Corporate and manages the structural risk of JPM Chase across a wide range of asset classes. CIO is mainly located in the major hubs - New York, London and Hong Kong and manages its own infrastructure including Market Risk, Middle Office, Finance and Technology.
Working in a combined PL and Risk role as part of a specialised team supporting CIO's cross-asset class business in London (Credit, Rates, Equity and FX), you will be responsible for producing accurate and timely Profit and Loss and detailed Risk analytics to the desk, reconciling reported PL to the general ledger and ensuring integrity of the control environment.
Key Responsibilities
Agreeing and reconciling traders P/L estimates to the actual results, explaining variances to FO
Provide sensitivity based PL explain with a focus on minimising any residual component
Monitoring positions against Market Risk limits.
Ownership of PL front-to-back; from trader estimate through to month end reconciliation.
Weekly collation of operations KPI's for submission to senior management.
Responding to various ad-hoc information requests by other businesses, such as MRM, VCG, CFO / BM, VARS
Performing business analysis - being a catalyst for change and owning delivery of all project's success criteria
Driving synchronisation of PL technology engagement in the delivery of change
Engaging with cross business and market forums for Regulatory change strategy and delivery
Building and maintaining strong business, operations and technology relationships
Qualifications
Skill-set requirements
Attention to detail and numerate with a methodical approach to problem solving
Ability to quickly understand a complex matrix of operating systems and their interrelationships and dependencies
Strong personality with good communication skills and the ability to argue a case effectively with any audience
Recognition of the business' and team's requirements and the willingness to step outside of a strict job description
Strong time management and multi-tasking skills as reasonable flexibility is required for the role
Proficiency in MS Excel / Access, preferably with some macro knowledge, an advantage
Experience / Education Required
Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
Business Analyst experience within Product Control, Market Risk, MO or Finance
Relevant product knowledge in at least 1 of CIO's asset classes
Strong
industry and operational knowledge
Experience / Education Desired
Understand key risk measures such as Greeks, PVBP, VaR, Stress Testing and the ability to explain material risk moves
Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements
Proven track record of presentation preparation and delivering communication to management
Ideally
