Chief Investment Officer (CIO) recruitment
The Company is currently launching a new US$ 500 million strategic acquisition fund (the “Fund”), and is seeking a full time Chief Investment Officer for the Fund. The CIO will be primarily responsible for leading the sourcing and execution of transactions in the transportation, logistics, tourism and hospitality industries.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage origination, execution and investment teams
- Coordinate fund-related activities across each team
- Formulate macro investment outlook for the Fund’s target industries
- Source investment opportunities according to the Fund’s mandate
- Assist in recruiting and mentoring a dedicated investment team for the Fund
- Coordinate delivery of investment proposals to Investment Committee, insuring that all proposals comply with fund’s investment strategy and guidelines
- Oversee the monitoring of portfolio investments after acquisitions
Necessary Qualifications
- Proven track record with similar role in private equity
- Minimum experience of 10+ years investing in the transportation, logistics, tourism and hospitality industries or have been employed in senior management positions with companies operating in the Fund’s industries of focus
- Strong track record of sourcing opportunities and experience with making acquisitions in Europe, MENA and Asia
- Willingness to live and work in Hong Kong
- Ability to work with regulatory bodies in various jurisdictions
- Strong understanding of fund governance issues
- Experience assessing cross-border risks
Strong Preference Towards
- Possession of strong relationships with institutional investors and experience with fund raising
- Relevant securities licensing
- Fluency in Mandarin and knowledge of Chinese regulatory policies with regards to offshore acquisitions
- Substantial work experience in various regions around the globe
- Ability to work in a boutique environment, both independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience managing private equity teams
