Chief Investment Officer – Endowment Fund recruitment

The role will require between three to four days a week, depending on a quarterly timetable of the Fund’s governing Investment Committee. This role is a rare opportunity for people whose personal circumstances rule out a full time job but who would like to:

The position will also be supported by an Investment Analyst.

Compensation, while not comparable to a mainstream CIO role, is nevertheless significant, in
recognition of the overall level of responsibility that this role will enjoy.

Desired Skills Experience

The key responsibility of this position will be to help formulate an overall investment plan for the Endowment Fund including developing the overall investment policy and strategy; and directing asset allocation and risk management parameters. Then, working with the charitable Foundation’s existing investment consultants/advisors, to help select the third party managers who will manage the assets, and to review their performance on an ongoing basis.

The key skills required are therefore high level Investment Management skills, with an understanding of Investment Strategy and Process, ideally across multiple asset classes, with strong asset allocation and risk management skills.

People with a background in Fund of Funds, Multi-Manager, Multi-Asset (including eg. Balanced or Cautious Managed mandates), or Investment Consulting are likely to have the full range of skills needed for this role. But we do not require a specific track record, and are open to people from a variety of relevant Investment Management backgrounds.
