Key Issues over the next 12-24 months
Develop and support the build out the COS role and wider COO Finance organization
Work closely with the COO Finance Leadership team and HR to design, implement and embed the COO Finance target operating model, with clear functional responsibilities and deep domain expertise
Provide strong leadership and work in partnership with the COO Finance Leadership Team to establish financial governance, processes and service delivery programmes, applications and reporting metrics.
Become a leader in establishing the new COO Finance organisation
Leverage the COO Finance team capabilities to improve strategic and operational decision-making within COO and COO Finance.
Put in place effective financial and performance reporting metrics to manage and report on COO Finance.
Develop and recommend financial targets for COO Finance as inputs to the strategic and annual operating plans, working closely with the CFO and COO Finance Leadership Team.
Develop effective relationships with the COO Finance Leadership team and key stakeholders within the COO Leadership Executive.
Lead the COO Finance Leadership Team to ensure world class financial capability is developed, maintained/updated throughout our COO Finance organisation.
Seek and deliver continuous improvements within our COO Finance operations, working closely with the COO Finance Leadership team.

Essential skills / knowledge experienceFinancial background and managing large budgets a must.
Must have experience of building and maintaining effective relationships at a senior level in the bank and external to the bank.
Experience and demonstrable track record of motivational and achievement oriented leadership, providing clear direction to staff.
Thorough commercial knowledge and understanding of economic drivers
