Our client is a dynamic and pioneering professional services firm with a global presence.  Due to a number of acquisitions in the last 18 months, strategic alliances and the opening of further offices in emerging markets, they are now looking to strengthen the support services teams with a new COO to be an integral member of the Asia management team. 

Reporting directly to the Group Headquarters and the Head of Asia, this is a high profile position to bridge the growth of the Asia business with the International teams in both UK and US. You will help to integrate the recently acquired businesses and support the start-up operations of recently opened offices across the region.  In addition, you will review and restructure the existing support operations to ensure a strong platform for further expansion. You will also work closely with all the management teams to provide strategic and operational advice, better performance analysis and information to drive more profitable deals.  Leading a lean team including the functions of HR, finance, sales marketing and administration across the region, you will coach and up-skill their abilities to contribute more value added services to the business. 

This is a newly created role and a high profile position to oversee the offices across Asia.  Suitable candidates should come from a finance background, and ideally have a professional accounting ACA/CPA or equivalent qualification.  You will have the maturity and gravitas to work with the Asia management team, and the confidence and presence to represent the region to the Group Headquarters. Strong leadership and management skills are imperative as are interpersonal skills to influence, persuade and gain buy-in from others in a diplomatic manner.   You should also have proven experience of working in HK/China and have been involved in building business in emerging markets across the region. A flexible, down to earth and hands-on nature is essential for you to succeed in this dynamic and international office environment.  An ability to travel will be necessary to carry out this role effectively.  Previous work experience in China and fluency in Mandarin is a distinct advantage although not essential.
