Chief Operating Officer – IFDS recruitment

Role Responsibilities

Securities Services Operational Management

• Manages the financial aspects of the Luxembourg business.

• Manages all client requirements.

• Works closely with all group entities in resolving policy, procedural and other routine problems that may arise during the normal course of business.

• Manages outside service providers whose services are used in the delivery of transfer agent services to IFDS’ clients.

• Assures that personnel policies are fairly and effectively administered; encourages staff development, team spirit and co-operative effort.

• Assumes full responsibility for business planning, goal setting, and budgeting activities throughout the Transfer Agent business.

• Participates in operations planning (financial, facilities, systems support, staffing and training).

• Chair weekly Luxembourg Senior staff meeting

• Attend the Luxembourg monthly management committee, Chair alternate.

• Provides management updates and client reviews as required.

• Monitors areas of responsibility to assure compliance with service level agreements, regulatory and legal requirements and corporate/local office policies.

• Provides coverage for senior managers, as required.

• Oversees the preparation and maintenance of the site Business Continuity Plan as it relates to the Transfer Agent business.

• Ensures that all staff in the business are actively participating in the PPR and training processes.

• Participates in special projects as required.

Business Development

• Sets the operational strategy for the Transfer Agent business and presents same to IFDS Policy Group for ratification and funding.

• Works closely with the Sales Teams in Luxembourg, Ireland and the UK to develop strategies for closing new business and actively participates in meetings and presentations of the product to prospective clients in support of IFDS and SSBL business development.

• Identifies concepts and advances new product ideas.

• Presents select product features to existing customers to cross-sell additional services and increase the revenue base from existing business

• Works with existing customers in a consulting capacity to understand current and future needs of their business and to recommend the ways that the full range of IFDS and State Street products can be used to support the client’s plans.

• Provides for the technical expertise to the Sales Teams, as needed, to support the Sales process.

• Ensures that the new client conversion process is continually refined, updated and tailored to meet each new client’s unique requirements.

• Participates in the Deal team for new and expanding business.

Relationship Management

• Builds and manages solid, long-term relationships with clients.

• Maximises revenue and profitability from client relationships.

• Monitors and manages service levels and client satisfaction.

• Manages the Bank’s risk associated with doing business with any particular client.

Ensures that service delivery to meets or exceeds client expectations so that clients agree to be references for new business.

Knowledge and Technical Skills 

• Successful track record of senior operational management with outstanding leadership skills.

• Strong technical knowledge in investment servicing, Transfer Agency, Distributor support, and securities settlement and custody.

• Excellent client relationship skills.

• Demonstrated management, mentoring, consulting, team building, problem resolution and communication skills.

• Ability to leverage and develop effective relationships with and effectively influence all areas of the Bank.

• Possesses the intellectual capacity and motivation to succeed in a competitive, sophisticated market environment.
