Chief Operating Officer – Project & Development Services recruitment

People management experience at a senior level and strong capabilities in resource planning, financial reporting and IT will be important, with a strong financial background.  

The purpose of this role is to:

• Deliver operational support to the Lead Director, other members of the Management Board and Team Leaders of PDS to enable them to maximize time spent on leading, growing and promotion of the PDS business in the UK.

• Although predominantly a London Regional role sharing of elements of best practice with the national team will also be required.

• Drive structured and efficient running of the department from Management Board to Team level and act as a “Go To” person for all finance, HR and support functions.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Director and service line leads in development and execution of strategic business plans and financial budgeting for the PDS business, and oversee the compilation of regular financial forecasts and monthly business commentary.  Oversee the tracking and reporting of work-in-hand, fee invoicing and collection

• Oversee financial management of department to include cost management, monthly PL reviews, annual business plan and quarterly forecasting.

• Support Lead Director and service line leads in the management of resources to ensure that PDS achieves its client service commitments, financial targets and objectives.

• Co-ordinate and drive forward IPMP process, recruitment, annual bonus and salary review process, team bonus models, recruitment, strategy and other HR matters arising.

• Co-ordinate support staff within PDS and liaise with central teams.

• Identify opportunities to increase operational efficiency, cost containment and profit growth for PDS. 

• Ensure that required IT resources and training support are in place to deliver the business plan, and oversee knowledge management processes within the PDS business unit.

• Oversee the organisation and efficient running of operational management activities to include management board meetings, team meetings and conferences and play a leadership role regarding internal communications.

• Build relationships with other COO’s within Jones Lang LaSalle and with the UK chief operating officer to share best practice and experience with other parts of the business.

• Lead the tracking and management of commercial and operational risk and ensure compliance with the Firm's policies, procedures and statutory obligations to include QA.
