London-based start-up private client wealth manager is looking for a COO. This is a broad role within a wealth manager in formation with existing client assets under management and robust financial backing. The job requires a self-starter, eager to operate on a multi-faceted environment within the Private Wealth Management arena, willing to roll up their sleeves and get the job done. It requires a motivated professional with 6-10 years prior experience in Private Banking / Wealth Management / Asset Management operations.
The main responsibilities as COO will be to assist the founding partners with all matters concerning the operations of the business from co-managing the FSA application process, on-boarding clients and custodians and managing on a daily basis the reconciliation process as well as the reporting requirements. In addition, the COO will be the primary reference for any compliance-related matters and will also be responsible for overseeing the outsourced finance, tax, insurance and HR functions of the business.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, thorough and hard-working individual with impeccable ethics, who can show the ability to tackle the wide array of different issues arising from a fast growing business and the drive to interact with the front-office functions of the firm and lead ad-hoc teams of external advisors.
The candidate’s job qualifications should include at a minimum:
- 6-10 yrs relevant experience, in operations for an private bank or wealth management or asset management firm
- Experience in external asset management segment of the private banking industry
- Experience in Financial and Management reporting
- Fully qualified to deal with financial markets regulators in the UK
- Fully qualified to deal with compliance related matters
- Personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good broad accountancy knowledge and analytical skills
- Hard working and able to multi-task
