Chief Operating/Financial Officer at Commodity Hedge Fund recruitment
Position Overview:
Commodity hedge fund located in Portland Oregon is currently seeking a Chief Operating/Financial Officer to help manage and grow the business and oversee internal operations.
Primary responsibilities will include business management development, recruiting and developing talent, financial management, and enabling the critical research, trading marketing efforts directed by the CEO. Additional responsibilities will depend upon successful candidate’s unique background, and may include hedge fund operations, trading IT infrastructure management, legal and/or compliance. The successful candidate will manage a wide range of areas; develop concrete goals and systems to track progress, as well as manage and coach staff in achieving their goals. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO/CFO will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team as well as a thought partner with the CEO regarding business operations and opportunities.
This is a new position for the company and is an exciting opportunity for an individual with the right management experience to grow a proven organization and make a huge contribution. Relevant Financial Industry experience is a requirement. The COO/CFO will be a hands-on leader who will have previous direct experience scaling other businesses or organizations. Importantly, the successful candidate will have the skills, sensitivity, and personal confidence to tap into the power that each member of the team brings. While it is essential that the COO/CFO help build the firm and bring efficient and effective systems to increase productivity, it is also critical that the team remains nimble, research-driven, and maintains a creative culture.
Preference will be given to applications received by June 15. The company anticipates making a hiring decision in July with a start date of September 1.
The successful candidate will have at a minimum:
• Bachelor’s degree required with Master’s preferred
• At least 10 to 12 years of professional experience in finance, serving in a senior operations or business management capacity, ideally in the Commodities or Managed Futures industries.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead an organization through times of significant opportunity and rapid growth.
• Superb organizational skills, with the demonstrated ability to create and implement efficient organizational systems.
• Willingness to relocate to Portland, Oregon before September 1.
