Chief Operations Officer – Downstream recruitment
A Downstream Energy business based in London have a newly created role for an ambitious COO to work closely with the Managing Director and Board level, to drive forward their strategic goals.
Overseeing a team of 50 across the front, middle and back offices, you will be a downstream specialist capable of taking a holistic approach to divisional and group-wide interests. In their own right they will be required to identify and analyse potential ventures or acquisitions, new routes to market, as well as opportunities to gain market share, amongst others.
A primary responsibility of the role is the optimisation of product purchases and sales utilising both physical and derivative options, and in-house systems.
Acting as a bridge between the CEO and CFO in determining the strategic development of the Company and its subsidiaries, you will have proven experience/understanding of refining, logistics, trading, risk management and commercial activities of an Oil company.
This role demands an individual with entrepreneurial flair and energy to cope with anticipated rapid growth. You will have an ability to understand the business holistically, incorporating project management skills to foresee changes, develop adaptation plans and implement. Engaging with the company strategy and continually driving forward the brand and reputation is fundamental to this roles success, as is the ability to build and drive a team.
