The Chief Strategist reviews and represents investment strategies from across the Center, focusing on a niche strategy. May have people management responsibilities.
S/he will have a thorough understanding of the asset management business, and niche-specific details as to how the products are managed, and which market sectors they are applied, both for US and non-US products. S/he will know how the firm's products are positioned in the market, as well as having an understanding of the competitive landscape. Additionally, the Chief Strategist will understand the investment marketplace and regulatory environment, in order to make recommendations about products, including product changes, or to add new products.
This position requires investment, analytical, quantitative, and strong interpersonal skills to in order to interpret and present investment/portfolio information, as well as to understand the changing market and regulatory environments. Analysis and understanding of information allows the Chief Strategist to use his/her knowledge in effectively positioning the organization, it's products, capabilities to a broad audience--internal and external, including prospective investors and clients. Additionally, the strong investment background and knowledge allows this person to credibly address the reasons for positions and activity in any given portfolio.
This position is critical to ensure that product objectives and investment policies are met, needed changes to existing products, as well as to identify products/strategies that may be added.
The Chief Strategist will liaise with various constituencies---both internal and external. In this role, strong interpersonal, influencing, collaborating, and communications skills are necessary in order to have the desired effect when representing the organization, as well as in relationships with outside constituents (such as clients, prospects, and consultants).
Qualifications
BA, BS. MBA preferred +10 years experience preferred.
