Chief Technology Officer/ CTO - hedge fund
A leading hedge fund is seeking an outstanding Chief Technology Officer. Having reached a significant mile stone with ~$2billion AUM and tipping point where the organisation is looking to have a robust, scalable technology platform in place to continue achieving consistent returns well above market average, the Head of IT is required to engage with senior stakeholders from front to back office to deliver solutions that enable the business to achieve its projected growth.
The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- The Chief Technology Officer will have complete oversight across application development infrastructure and IT support teams in-house and via external providers.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with front and back office division heads to understand their information and systems needs and deliver to them.
- Define the project road map and oversee delivery of development, infrastructure and other division projects.
- Manage relationships with all external technology application development and infrastructure vendors including root branch review of their fit for future purpose.
- Define and monitor annual technology budgets.
- Evaluate risks and dependencies associated with current or anticipated technologies, along with a plan to develop contingency solutions to mitigate these as well as appropriate business continuity and disaster recovery mechanisms.
Essential Requirements:
- Smart, highly numerate and analytical, degree educated (or similar experience)
- Strong track record in a senior role with a hedge fund or investment bank
- Deep knowledge of OTC derivatives and/or fixed income products so as to build credibility with traders and risk managers
- Thorough knowledge across the technology spectrum including: application programming, database and system design and IT infrastructure.
- Influencing and communications skills to operate to partner level
Salary Benefits
£100-120,000 + bonus
