Chief US Economist – Trading floor based Role – USA – NEW YORK recruitment
You will be sitting directly with the trading team and take initial responsibility for the economics and strategy forecasts before launching and building a team.
This role requires an individual with a long career in US economics and experience working with corporates.
Your responsibilities will include:-
• Forecasting and interpretation of key components of the US macro-economy,
• Supporting all aspects of the Fixed Income, Currencies Commodities (FICC) business globally with regard to U.S. macroeconomic analysis and forecasting.
• Providing economic coverage for the fixed-income, equity, commodity and foreign exchange trading areas, as well as for capital markets and investment banking
• Authorship of weekly, daily, and intra-daily economic commentary for broad internal/external distribution
• Assist in forming the Firm’s outlook on the U.S. economy, monetary and fiscal policy options and financial markets.
• Significantly raise the Firm’s profile with clients and the media as it expands in U.S. financial markets.
The ideal candidate will currently be working as a US economist at senior level within a sell side firm.
