China Economist

My client is a major European Asset Manager with global investment operations.

They seek a Chinese Economist covering China and the main emerging Asian economies.

You must have good understanding, and ideally explicit experience of following markets too.

You should speak excellent Mandarin, and be fluent in English (including excellent writing skills).

Your research is expected to be both about the short term outlook (growth, inflation, interest rate forecasts, risk analysis), but also about structural themes (long term growth, debt dynamics, demography, structural changes…).

This role would not only cover emerging Asia (above all China) but would also interact with our asset management teams in HK and Singapore, as well as with clients in the region, starting with Beijing.

You would therefore be the speaker for the full (global) macro analysis of the asset manager for the whole Asia region reporting directly to the Global Emerging Market Economist Chief Markets Strategists based in Europe.

We are looking for an economist with strong academic credentials such as PhD / MSc Economics from a top tier university.

You should have 4-6 years' experience covering macro data such as GDP/inflation/IP forecasting and discussing big medium term issues too etc. (Sending research examples with your CV will boost your application).

To discuss further please email your CV to the macro specialists at: Chris.Apostolou@Arbitrage-Search.com
