Overview:
Given the current economic situation, Finance has never been more important. Responsible for overseeing all the financial details of Deutsche Bank, the role of Finance is to protect the interests of Deutsche Bank's shareholders, to ensure their returns are maximized over time.
Finance provides insightful analysis and meaningful challenge to the businesses and infrastructure functions within Deutsche Bank. As well as focusing on the control environment and accurate financial information.
The role of Finance is changing and expanding to become more influential. Finance partners with its stakeholders to monitor performance, manage costs and deliver their strategic agenda. The current economic situation demands Finance to spend more time on financial planning and analysis, educating organisations on cost reduction, financial risk management, strategy planning and credit decisions. These changing expectations, as well as imposing new pressures on Finance, represent a huge opportunity.
The profile of Finance in Deutsche Bank is changing with the creation of the Finance Director / Finance Manager, Analytics, COO and Specialist roles. Meanwhile, large parts of Finance's core production and processes have moved to Professional Service Centres in Manila and Mumbai where they are re-engineered, standardised and controlled much smartly and efficiently.
Within this framework, CIB Analytics itself is organised into both functional and product focused teams covering: Pan-CIB and Product-aligned analytics, Strategy and Planning, Revenue Analysis and CIB Finance Reporting.
This role is located within the CIB Finance Reporting team, which produces the consolidated daily PL report for the Board, as well as internal and external PL reporting and analysis for senior management, including the Board and the Group Executive Committee.
Key Responsibilities:
Performance reporting - Internal
Involvement in the formulation of monthly and quarterly PL estimates for CIB CFO and COO
Monitoring of Ledger and MIS systems, and liaison with finance product heads to ensure month end PL is in line with expectation
Delivery of various forms of monthly and quarterly PL commentary and analysis for CBS, for ultimate discussion at Group Executive Committee
Regular face to face interaction senior Finance heads, CIB CFO, and Group Finance in Frankfurt
Performance reporting - External
Translation of internal results to external view to be shown in all external reports (Annual and interim reports, Earnings release)
Drafting of commentary for external reporting, and then managing the process through to completion, liaising with Group Finance, Business Strategy, Audit and Legal
Control and other
Responsible for Global Markets Central area, which includes PL analysis, balance sheet substantiation, currency exposure management, and compilation of quarterly MIS packs
Liaison with Treasury and Central Business management to monitor and allocate funding costs and other Central PL items across businesses
Co-ordination of business structure changes and resultant accounting restatements/hierarchy re-alignments
Involvement in ad hoc analysis and project work
Management of 1 FTE off-shore
You will have:

Degree qualified
A qualified Accountant (preferred)
