CIB – F&BM – EMEA Equities EDG Delta One Product Controller – Associate

BusinessThe Delta One Trading Desk is split into Index Forward Trading, Swaps trading and ETFs, whose primary function is market making on equity futures/forward, delivering equity performance to clients through swaps and agency ETF trading, as well as other new and innovative products.
The Delta One trades across European and Global markets in a wide variety of instrument classes, including Securities, OTCs, Exchange traded products (futures options), Swaps, FX and Interest Rate products.
The team and the candidateWe are seeking to hire an Associate level Product Controller, which is made up of 6 members. The business is split into sectors, which allow the team to rotate and gain exposure to the full business.
We are looking for a proactive and control orientated candidate who is driven by their desire to get exposure to and further their understanding of Equity Derivative products and trade structures. The individual will be required to have excellent communication skills. They will be required to work on multiple deliverables to strict deadlines. This will require the individual to be able to effectively liaise with other team members, other departments and to individuals at all levels.
Key responsibilitiesAs a Product Controller your responsibilities will include running and analyzing the mark to market of the portfolio, daily risk and PL reporting, PL substantiation, and residual analysis. In this role you will also face off to a wide variety of areas, aside from direct communication with traders, you will liaise with trading desk assistants, financial business control teams as well as senior Finance management. The role will require front to back view of the control agenda and partnering with Financial Control to substantiate exceptions between Front Office systems, General Ledger and Balance sheet. You will gain exposure to month end reconciliations performed by Financial Control and production of weekly/monthly MIS reporting for senior management.
You will be responsible for adding continuous improvements to the process and infrastructure. You must thrive on task completion, exception resolution and enjoy being constantly challenged.
The individual would need to have strong analytical and problem solving skills in order to identify, understand and address varied issues as part of the day to day process.

Qualifications

The specific experience necessary for this position is:
Derivatives product knowledge, including understanding of the Greeks.Preferably knowledge of accounting for financial instruments.Proactive approach to problem solving and ability to identify and drive though changeStrong analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focusExcellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationshipsIntermediate Excel skills as a minimum
