CIO Global Controller

The Chief Investment Office ("CIO") is business unit in the Corporate Sector of J.P. Morgan Chase. The CIO is responsible for, among other things, managing risks of the Firm's balance sheet. This includes managing firm-wide structural risks (predominantly interest rate, but also currency and to some extent credit) created by the day-to-day operations of the Lines of Business across JPMorgan Chase. The CIO manages the firm's investment portfolio to mitigate these risks as part of the firm-wide asset-liability management process. JPMorgan Chase Co. (NYSE: JPM) is a global financial services firm with assets of $2.0 trillion. Role Overview: CIO's Global Controller oversees business and financial control matters in a business with total assets of approximately $400 billion. Specific responsibilities include accounting policy/reporting and oversight of the entire control environment including the control self assessment, Sarbanes-Oxley and valuation processes. The CIO Global Controller oversees a team of approximately 15 people in New York and London and reports into the Global CFO of CIO. CIO's business model operates in very complex accounting and regulatory environment which requires the candidate to possess specific technical skills. Responsibilities include: § Researching and opining on technical accounting matters covering a variety of areas including, but not limited to, derivative/hedge accounting, consolidations, available-for-sale securities classification and loan accounting. § Oversight of SEC and other regulatory reporting including Form 10-Q/K's, FRY-9C and Liquidity Stress Reporting. Act as primary liaison between CIO and senior Corporate Reporting management. § Producing and maintaining policy and other documentation related to reporting and financial controls. § Performing independent valuations and ensuring appropriate pricing of CIO's portfolios which are comprised of a diverse set of investment securities and derivative products. § Serve as liaison on tax matters and support CIO's NBIA process. § Application of the Firm's control self assessment and Sarbanes-Oxley processes including oversight, testing and reporting. § Liaise closely with CIO's regional CFOs to ensure that reporting and control related work is getting done appropriately and timely. § Identify best practices and efficiencies to ensure controller function is operating optimally. § Help drive the Business strategic priorities
