CIO, Treasury, and other Corporate (CTC) Risk – Market Risk – Vice President – 3 roles
Description
The CIO International Market Risk team within the CTC Risk organization seeks to hire a seasoned risk professional to join its Market Risk management function. This individual, who will report to the Head of CIO International Market Risk, will participate in risk related matters, including driving risk analytics and review for CIO's significant investment in credit assets: emerging and developed markets securities and derivatives products including sovereign bonds, securitized products, munis, and FX and IRS swaps.
Specific responsibilities:
- Provide product/asset type expertise for assigned portfolio as a Market Risk lead
- Participate in the assessment and control of market risk across the portfolio as well as have the ability to challenge market positions and views and help assess the best allocation of risk and capital to various positions and businesses
- Work with the risk coverage team globally, establishing guidelines, standards and best practices
- Play a leading role in the development and build-out of the risk management process and infrastructure supporting the CTC (CIO, Treasury and Corporate) LOBs globally; responsible for the continuing education of the LOBs with respect to market risk management, policies, systems and procedures
- Work with the Front Office, Finance, Valuation Control Group, Model Review Group, Policy, Finance, Technology and Middle Office
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- Solid experience in risk management and/or trading, preferably with a wide range of experience with quantitative, financial and risk management techniques and systems preferred
- Strong quantitative and analytical background with an understanding of structured products and derivative instruments; able to deep dive into portfolio and produce reviews highlighting key risks
- Experience with instruments at various levels in the capital structure
- Strong understanding of VaR and Stress concepts and structure
- Stress testing, various return measures and experience with portfolio construction a plus
- Independent; not reliant on junior staff to produce analysis or presentations
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong critical thinking skills, with thorough attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven leadership, influencing and negotiation skills. Easily able to build credibility with senior portfolio managers and CIO's.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across different businesses and functional areas
- Strong people management and ability to garner support for new business initiatives
Education: An undergraduate degree is required.
